After a highly successful run on London's West End, Motown the Musical is coming to Newcastle! It tells the unique story of Berry Gordy who founded Motown Records and kickstarted the careers of numerous artists, including Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and The Temptations to name just a few. Motown is bound to get you dancing on your feet with classic hits such as My Girl, What's Going On and many more. Featuring Edward Baruwa as Berry Gordy, Karis Anderson as Diana Ross, Nathan Lewis as Smokey Robinson, Shak Gabbidon-Williams as Marvin Gaye and many more fantastic performers, Motown is going to be a smash hit!

The Bodyguard: The Musical - 23rd July - 4th August 2019

Based on the award-winning film, The Bodyguard tells the story of former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, who is recruited to protect Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. The Bodyguard has a whole load of smash hits including I Wanna Dance With Somebody and I Will Always Love You and the cherry on top is that Alexandra Burke returns to the role of Rachel Marron, which alone is a reason to go and see the show!

The Rocky Horror Show - 5th - 10th August 2019
Richard O'Brien's legendary rock and roll muscial returns to Newcastle this summer and this time, Duncan James stars as Dr Frank'n'Furter. If you don't know what it's about, it tells the story of Brad and Janet who go to visit their former college professor when their car breaks down outside a creepy mansion where they go and encounter the charismatic Dr Frank'n'Furter... Featuring songs like Damn It Janet and Time Warp, it's a renowned, classic musical which you have to see!

Les Misérables - 15th August - 5th October 2019
The critically acclaimed, stunning production of Les Misérables arrives at Newcastle Theatre Royal in August. The new staging has been hailed as 'Les Mis for the 21st century' and has played to over 120 million people worldwide in 52 countries and 22 languages. It tells the story of the French revolution and features the oustanding score including the timeless classics: I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own and One Day More. The sublime story and the striking songs are topped by the stellar cast: Killian Donnelly as Jean Valjean, Nic Greenshields as Javert, Katie Hall as Fantine plus a whole array of talented perfomers. Les Misérables is sure to be a stunning and emotive show this summer at Newcastle Theatre Royal.
